First Gathering Enjoys Great Weather
Those of you who didn't make it to the Tweed weekend for our first gathering on September 21st missed a great weekend. The Park Place Motel is excellently located for superb riding, and is located right on the lake with lots of paved parking. We even had enough room to do some PLP (Parking Lot Practice) with Bro. Bill Knowles, and for the entertainment of the other guests at the motel. The owners treated us very well, taking special care to be sure we had a good breakfast before we headed out for the day.
We had the double joy of picking up new member Bro. Bruce Jenks of Matawatchan near Griffith, Ontario. Bruce was our Saturday ride leader and took us through some beautiful country roads north of Tweed above Highway 7. We finished off with a stop at Bruce's home and I don't mind telling you ... he makes for a great host! Our thanks to you, Bruce!
We also had the pleasure of a visit by Bill and Patti Lozon from Rochester NY at Bro. Bill's invitation. Bill put up with some unexpected back roads without getting too far lost, and Patti put up with Bro. Knowles, both very commendable accomplishments! I hope they'll be back next year!
Our break for the day was at Bruce's home in Matawatchan. Reading l. to r., you're looking at Bros. Bruce Jenks, Len Cotton, Bill Knowles, and Bill Lozon, and that's Patti Lozon behind the camera! (If you look real close for her ... Gotcha! Didn't I just say she's behind the camera?! ;?)
Bruce built that two-storey workshop/garage/games room/ visitor's apartment in the background. Is this guy handy with a hammer, or what?! (Click on photo to see larger photo.)
(The paragraph discussing annual dues has been removed since the decision has been made to keep this organization as simple and informal as possible. There are no annual dues. It will be up to the local riding Masons to fund any requirement that they see fit to allow them to enjoy riding with other Masons in their area.)
That's it and that's all, guys. PMS (Parked Motorcycle Season) is coming down on most of us real soon. Take good care of yourselves until next time!
